Seine river has many faces

 

Seine river divides two beautiful parts of Paris. Much here are the stationary ships - cafes and hotels and houses on the water. For the rich - luxury. For the poor - ordinary barges.

Over the Seine river came Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński, a brilliant interpreter of French writers, to bought a books from the riverine secondhand bookseller. Over the Seine also came poet Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska with her dolorific lost love. In the Seine made a hole in the water Bronisław Piłsudzki, an outstanding ethnographer - brother of Józef Piłsudzki, the great restorer of Poland after slavery. Above the Seine river banks, at Pont Neuf bridge met one's a death Piotr Curie, the husband of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, the Polish twice Nobel laureate. Notre Dame de Paris as the 'World Ambassador of Gothic Cathedrals.

Starting from the Henryk Andegaweński (Henri de Valois, the king of Poland and France) oath of Pacta Conventa, through the first meeting by biggest Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz with mystic Andrzej Towiański and commemorates the anniversary of the millennium of Poland baptism in 1966, on the visit of Pope John Paul II in this place ending.

 

Victor Hugo was just twenty eight years old when he wrote his novel: Notre Dame de Paris. Set in the medieval period, it tells the story of the deformed Quasimodo, ward of the cathedral, and his ill-fated love for the beautiful Gypsy dancer, Esmeralda.
